Restaurant Baan Chiangmai

Baan Chiangmai is a great little Thai restaurant in Yokosuka. It's tucked away up a narrow flight of stairs on the second floor, right across from the Seiyu shopping center. Easily reachable by walking straight out Womble gate and in a few blocks you're there. For lunch they have a buffet with a decent selection (remember the place is small and the table can only be so big!) but you can order from their lunch menu too. There is a separate dinner menu. The menus have a picture of everything, and is written in Japanese, Thai, and English.

The cooks are all Thai and the place is run by Ken also from Thailand. Ken has been in Japan for about 7 years and running his restaurant for about 3. He'll welcome you with a Thai greeting full of pleasantries and courtesies.  And will have a lot of nice things to say when you leave too, although you won't understand them unless you speak Thai. But I can tell he is saying very nice things.

Lunch buffet is fully served by about 1130 and is only 780 Yen. Typically it will include a noodle, fried rice, two salads, a soup, two main dishes, steamed rice, and dessert. All the food is well prepared and has a lot of depth.
