Nawlins

For a while I thought that Nawlins may be the only place in Japan that serves Cajun food. That is not true, but you won't find any other places close to Yokosuka, and will have to travel elsewhere to find the others.  So if you like Cajun food you're lucky to have this authentic place just minutes outside the gate. Word is they are relocating closer to Blue street in the future. Update, Update! they have now moved and are just one block south of Hwy 16 outside of Womble gate.

Here are some new photos below at their new location.  I'll keep the old photos for historical purposes. They have now added barbeque to their menu and have a great selection of craft beers on tap downstairs. Their new place is quite spacious and a big improvement over the previous location.

Nawlins is owned and operated by Charles Hall, a native of New Orleans' 7th ward AND a 30 year Navy vet. He has an English menu and they're open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Yes they have Mardi Gras and Superbowl parties.  You can see more of their food on their Facebook page.

Shrimp Etouffee

Catfish Po Boy
The shrimp etouffee was good and spicy (by design). So order something else if you don't like spicy food.  The catfish was perfectly done, crispy on the outside and steamy/moist inside.
