Okazuya - おかずや いしわた 横須賀

Okazuya is a great back alley find. It's just a tiny shop with a few seats, but they serve up a good lunch crowd with their homemade set meals that are very nicely priced.

Okazuya entrance
Upon entering the alley where Okazuya is located, you'll immediately know if they are open or not by seeing if the large flags are flying.

Ordering counter
Okazuya has section where you can buy prepared foods such as bento boxes, tempura, or pickles for instance. Or you can buy a meal for take out or sit down.  The food is all prepared by a quiet but friendly and attentive staff of about four.

Yakiniku don
The yakiniku don set meal above is a great deal at only 650 Yen. The soup was full of vegetables and pork bits. The meal is sure to fill you up.
Food to go area
There are only about six or eight seats in Okazuya.

I didn't take time to notice if they are open for dinner, but I suspect they are. They don't have much internet presence to speak of except for a mention by yahoo loco where one reviewer gave it a 5.

I like Okazuya for its unpretentious atmosphere and home cooked meals. You can find them on the blog map, or simply face the front of Pepper Lunch, then go down the alley by Mister Donut to your left. You should then be able to see Okazuya.
