Yakinikuya Sakai

Yakiniku-ya Sakai is another fine yakiniku restaurant that easily escapes the restaurant radar screen here in Yokosuka.  If you're familiar with Kalbi House, the concept is very similar.

Set Lunch

A menu is available (below) that has English labels. Several lunch sets are offered and are a pretty good deal. For dinner they also offer large sets and I would recommend you go with those, but there are extensive individual items from which to order.

Yakiniku means "grilled meat." Sakai in this usage likely means "spot."

Their website and online menu can be found here.

Charcoal grilling

If you've ordered food to be cooked at your table they'll deliver a charcoal basket. In this respect Sakai differs from Kalbi House which uses gas.

Sakai offers an excellent view of Tokyo bay. Too bad they don't make use of this nice balcony.  I think you can reserve it or maybe they open it up during better (less sultry) weather.

They are located on the second floor of this yellow building near Don Quijote store. If you're familiar with Kalbi House, and the Kura Sushi go round place, it's just another block or two further south. Check their location on the blog map or by clicking the location link at the very bottom of the post. There is free parking.

Overall, it's very similar to Kalbi House but with a different view and atmosphere.
